"Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada just updated me on the funds you raised in 2017 -
drum roll here - $53,151.00!!! These funds were matched by a Government grant, so
we made a significant  contribution to Dr. Michael Taylor's research program at the
Sick Kids Hospital. I'm so proud of everyone that participated this year in the relay,
whether you ran, supported or volunteered - you made this possible!!" - Blair Shunk,
as posted in the Banff Jasper Relay Facebook Group, August 2017.

For 2018, all funds raised by the Banff Jasper Relay will again be directed to the Pediatric Brain Cancer Impact Grant. Kids need to do more than survive brain cancer. They deserve to thrive.

Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is funding a $1.25 million project to change how children diagnosed with medulloblastoma, the most common form of brain cancer, are treated. Thanks to the significant funds already raised, research has started on this project and we now know that there are not one but twelve forms of medulloblastoma that all need different treatment types. We also now know that if medulloblastoma recurs, it will be a different disease that will need a different treatment from the original. This research is already changing lives. With your help, we can continue this project to change the future for children with brain cancer!

If each runner donates just $75 dollars, that will raise $67,500 for this project and ensure that kids not only survive, but thrive. All donations will be matched dollar for dollar by Brain Canada!
