In February of 2017, I was diagnosed with a grade ii Oligodendroglioma at 20 years young. After 2 surgeries, countless siezures, Cushing's syndrome, and ongoing rounds of chemo, it is stable but still impacts my day-to-day life. Last year in St. John's we raised a total of $2680, which far exceeded any expectation I had. Every single donation was incrediably apprecited by both me and this wonderful charity.
There is currently no cure for brain tumours, only ways to treat and manage side effects. Each tumour is different depending on the type, size, and location in the brain, which makes finding a cure incredibly difficult. All money raised will go towards research and support for the thousands of Canadians affected by brain tumours. This year's walk will take place at the Rotary Paradise Centre at 10AM on Sunday June 24!
